The Chiswick Heritage Working Party a project of the Thames Strategy – Kew to Chelsea.
The Chiswick Heritage Working Party (CHWP) was established in 2005 with the overarching aim of sewing together all the remarkable places and places in Chiswick so they can best articulated their combined wonder, as well as supporting each other whilst drawing attention to Chiswick’s historic and continuing relationship with the River Thames.
OPEN CHISWICK is an initiative of the CHWP. Its members chose to harness a peak in activities and events that occurs, in Chiswick, across September. The WP felt that all the attractions, events and activities would do well from combining efforts and communicating a strong message to local residents and outside visitors. OPEN CHISWICK is a call, an invitation to explore via some very well organised events and activities, the compelling natural, social, cultural and built heritage that is Chiswick.
OPEN CHISWICK runs the entire month of September and there are events and activities for all members of the family. The pinnacle of the calendar is the weekend of the 19th & 20th of September 2009 when attractions such as Fullers Brewery and Chiswick House invite you in FREE OF CHARGE! This weekend also coincides with the London Open House weekend.
