The Thames Strategy – Kew to Chelsea (TSKC) is one of three sub-regional River Thames partnerships within the Greater London region. As our name suggests, our strategy focuses on the stretch of river between the historic “villages” of Kew and Strand-on-the Green in the west and the industrial riverside at Nine Elms and cosmopolitan Chelsea in the east.
Launched in 2002, Thames Strategy – Kew to Chelsea has developed a one hundred year blueprint that seeks to ensure that all future development along this stretch of the Thames places the conservation and enhancement of the “natural”, built and social environment at the heart of all decisions made.
A primary objective of TSKC has been to identify and action heritage and environmental projects and also contribute towards management plans along the River Thames in the Kew to Chelsea sub-region. The TSKC has applied a holistic approach to dealing with the diverse and complex demands of different river users on this delicate resource. As such, TSKC seeks to coordinate and accommodate the needs and demands of a diverse partnership of statutory and non-statutory organisations, local groups and individuals.
